In December of 2006 - the NFPA 1951 Standard for USAR changed. The new 2007 edition requires an ASTM 2413 compliant metatarsal in all boots certified for Technical Rescue Operations.

To protect the five metatarsal bones located in your foot’s forefront - we went back to the drawing board to design the most lightweight and flexible metatarsal protection available. We didn’t just add any metatarsal...we added a patented rubber metatarsal that’s so lightweight and pliable you’ll barely know it’s there and so unique it’s patented... and then we took the boot a step further.

The 6006 NOW has side quarter panels of black Advance® Rip Stop fabric...part of the same family of tough fibers used in military ballistic vests and helmets. And the interior liner of PRO-V has high performance moisture wicking capabilities that won’t compromise its natural softness...you’ll stay cool - dry and comfortable regardless of the call. You’ll also notice dramatically improved performance in icy conditions with the new Vibram lug sole Fire/Ice compound.
